THE ANTIDODE TO UNBELIEF: FAITH TO EMBRACE THE PROMISE (HEBREWS 11)

 As the writer takes us through the historic storyline of faith that we are now a part of, he states something that is very important for us to lay hold of: the way in which we embrace the promises that are “afar off” (Heb. 11:13) has great benefit related to what we “obtain” (“a good testimony in the faith”) regarding our impact and fruitfulness in this life (Heb. 11:39).

The “embrace of the promises” changed the way they understood themselves and therefore changed the way they lived and prayed. We will never, ever regret the way that the “faithful embracing” of the precious promises of God from His word and over the course of our lives locks us in and aligns us towards choices that seem strange, foreign, or out of place in this world but makes absolute sense in light of what God has said, confirmed, and will therefore surely bring to pass.
